Providing guidance and support for an empowering birth.
Bella Vita Doula Services
"A Beautiful Life"
Hello, Thanks for visiting.
A Birth Doula is a non-medical trained professional that provides support throughout pregnancy and birth while providing evidence-based education. I am a certified birth doula with DONA International, the first and largest doula organization in North America.

I'm Jordan Allen. Originally from the Chicago suburbs but have been calling Colorado home since 2013. I have been loving living near the foothills in Golden with my husband, raising our two beautiful children. When I'm not attending to clients, I enjoy gardening, hiking and spending time outdoors with my children.
I became a mother in 2016 and welcomed our second child in 2018. As a new mother, I was completely overwhelmed and always questioning if I was doing it right. Being a mother in today's busy and convenient - modern world, can put a lot of pressure on both expecting and postpartum mother's, to fit in with societies expectations of childbirth and early parenthood. In my own pregnancy and early postpartum, I felt pulled in two different directions, part of me felt the need to follow what the trendiest parenting guide book said, but the other part of me couldn't ignore the intense and growing maternal instincts within me to do the opposite. This caused more anxiety and more stress, so I decided to block out the world around me and to listen to my instincts and learn and understand my baby's needs. In time, I became more confident and more in-tuned with my body and baby. I became aware of the importance of primal newborn reflexes and how babies have their own instinctive ways to communicate with the outside world, so we can better support their needs. What fascinated me most, I learned it all begins in pregnancy and birth. In today's medical culture, birth is shown as dramatic and dangerous, leaving expecting families fearful about birth, when it actually can be a calm and beautiful experience with each step in birth to be purposeful. Nature has programmed it all for us, we just have forgotten to trust our maternal instincts and just like our ancestors, our bodies are designed to give birth.
I believe the more you learn a physiological birth, not only leads to a smoother birth experience, but to a more confident mother in birth and early postpartum. When a mother is confident in making informed choices while trusting her instincts, her birth will be a positive experience. I became a birth doula to help inform and educate expecting families to become confident and empowered to make the choices that's right for them in their birth and postpartum journey's.

Whether it's hospital, birth center, or home births, I ensure confidence and comfort for expecting families.

As your doula, I will respect your choices and provide resources and guidance when needed. It's important for me to build trust and a friendship with my clients. By offering two in-home prenatal meetings, this allows us to get to know each other and helps me learn how to best support you and your needs. During my prenatal meetings, I will break down the mechanics of birth and breastfeeding. Leaving you and your partner with confidence. I will explain how proper nutrition and body stretches can help with a smoother pregnancy and birth. I will also focus on preparing your birth partner to know how to give physical and emotional support whether that's in pregnancy, birth, or postpartum.
