I was inspired to become a doula after my own birth experiences. I became fascinated with pregnancy and birth, while also becoming aware how little support and guidance there was. I realized how important having birth support can be while navigating the unknowns of pregnancy and childbirth. In today's medical birth culture, getting evidence-based information doesn't come readily available. Having a doula as part of your birth team can help the labor experience by providing support and guidance for the mother and partner.

 For some families, the idea of giving birth can be scary. Modern movies and T.V shows portray birth as being painful and dangerous, however, birth can be quite the opposite. Birth can be beautiful and empowering. My focus is preparing for birth with both the body and mind. Learning ways to stay healthy and informed can help reduce risks and the fear of birth. I truly believe knowledge is power. I will help break down the mechanics of birth and teach how our bodies were designed to grow, give birth, and feed our babies as mother nature has intended. Regardless how you give birth, staying informed on evidence-based research, understanding your birthing rights, while learning what an instinctual birth can look like, will give you confidence for a birth you will always remember.

 As your doula, I will give childbirth education and support from the start while respecting your choices. I offer two prenatal meetings to hear your birth wishes, while providing evidence-based information to help give you the confidence for a better start into parenthood.
